Today, December 15, 2011, Alameda County Social Services Agency (SSA), Department of Children and Family Services, announced the release of a new request for proposals (RFP) for the procurement proposals from organizations that provide mentoring services for Alameda County youth involved in the Foster Care system.

SSA seeks proposals from community-based organizations, as well as public or private, for-profit or non-profit agencies, for the provision of the services described above for the period May 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

Proposers responding to this RFP to provide Mentoring Services must have at least three (3) years of regular and continuous engagement in the business of providing mentoring and counseling services to children and three (3) years of experience providing services to foster youth, foster families and related knowledge of the foster care system within Alameda County.
