Advisory Commission
on Aging (ACA)
The Advisory Commission on Aging (ACA) is made up of representatives concerned
about the needs and interests of elders in Alameda Co. The Alameda County Board
of Supervisors (BOS) appoints the Commission members.
Associated Community Action
Program
The Associated Community Action Program (ACAP) was created
in 1974 by the local governments of Alameda County to serve as the Community
Action Agency for the jurisdiction. ACAP's joint powers agreement is signed
by the county board of supervisors and 12 city councils, each of which has
one seat on the ACAP Governing Board .
Child Abuse Prevention
Task Force
The Prevent Child Abuse Alameda County Council was established in
1978 to foster cooperative child protection efforts in Alameda County and to
encourage the development and coordination of countywide children's services.
The Council's services include child abuse and neglect identification, reporting,
prevention, intervention, treatment, and public awareness.
Commission on the Status of Women The Commission on the Status of Women's goal is to maximize parity for women of all ages, by supporting the elimination of non-discriminatory services and practices in the areas of housing, employment, health services, child care, elder care, affirmative action, reproductive rights, domestic violence, sexual harassment and legislative issues.
Human Relations Commission
The Alameda County Human Relations Commission is appointed by the Alameda County
Board of Supervisors. The Commission is comprised of citizens that are interested
in human relation issues throughout the county.
Workforce Investment
Board (WIB)
The Alameda County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a 35-member, private-sector
lead, governing body appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
