Interim Agency Director Yolanda BaldovinosYolanda Baldovinos is the Interim Director of the Alameda County Social Service Agency (ACSSA), which oversees the provision of human service programs in the sixth largest County in California. The Agency has 2100 employees, a budget of $560 million, and is made up of six departments: Children and Family Services; Adult and Aging Services; Workforce and Benefits Administration; Employment Services, Administration and Information Services, and Finance and Office Administration.

Ms. Baldovinos received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University and her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of California, Berkeley.

Prior to this appointment Ms. Baldovinos has served as Director of the Workforce and Benefits Administration Department and Director of Agency Administration and Finance, both in Social Services Agency.

Ms. Baldovinos came to the Social Services Agency in March 2001 from the Health Care Services Agency, where she held a number of positions including: Public Health Director; District Health Services Director; Director of Alameda County Alcohol and Drug Programs Director and Director of Administration.

Ms. Baldovinos has strong ties to the community. Prior to coming to work for Alameda County, she was Executive Director of La Clinica de la Raza, Fruitvale Health Project, Inc., a community-based organization in Oakland. She is a board member and former president of the Hispanic Community Affairs Council. Among the awards Ms. Baldovinos has won are Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame, 1993; Chicana Foundation, 1992; Alameda County CMA Outstanding Manager of Health Care, 1998.
